I Refuse

I Refuse

I refuse to let bitterness win

even when the answer is “No”

I refuse to let bitterness win

even when waiting is slow

I refuse to let bitterness win

when Satan tries to destroy

I refuse to let bitterness win

he WILL NOT steal my joy

I refuse to let bitterness win

in the midst of this trial

I refuse to let bitterness win

I  will still strive to smile

I refuse to let bitterness win

even when I can’t see the reason

I refuse to let bitterness win

even for a season

“Patience is a virtue”… I can’t see past right now and I want so badly for my brother to find a job, to be given a chance to shine for Christ and confident that he is exactly where God wants him… but sometimes God says “Wait”, sometimes God has something better in store than we ever could have imagined…sometimes we can’t see past the present moment because He knows we are not ready yet, as in Habakkuk… I refuse to allow Satan to discourage our hearts even for a moment. Our God IS capable of providing a job, outside “knowing someone” outside anything. My Savior owns the cattle on a thousand hills and His word SAYS He will provide for His children, His eye is on the Sparrow and I know He watches over me… My grandma used to quote this poem, “At Wit’s End Corner” and I think it is perfect for the present trial:

(Psalm 34:19; 107:27)

Are you standing at ‘Wits’ End Corner’

Christian, with troubled brow?

Are you thinking of what is before you

And all you are bearing now?

Does all the world seem against you,

And you in battle alone?

Remember – at Wits’ End Corner

Is just where God’s power is shown.

Are you standing at Wits’ End Corner,

Blinded with wearying pain,

Felling you cannot endure it,

You cannot bear the strain,

Bruised through the constant suffering,

Dizzy and dazed and dumb?

Remember – to Wits’ End Corner

Is where Jesus loves to come.

Are you standing at Wits’ End Corner,

Your work before you spread,

All lying, begun, unfinished

And pressing on heart and head,

Stretching out trembling hands?

Remember – at Wits’ End Corner

The burden Bearer stands

Are you standing at Wits’ End Corner

Yearning for those you love,

Longing and praying and watching,

Pleading their cause above,

Trying to lead them to Jesus,

Won’ring if you’ve been true?

He whispers – at Wits’ End Corner

I’ll win them as I won you.

Are you standing at Wits’ End Corner

Then you’re just in the very spot

To learn the wondrous resources

Of him who faileth not!

No doubt to a brighter pathway

Your footsteps will soon be moved,

But only at Wits’ End Corner

Is the ‘God Who is able’ proved.

Can’t wait to see what God WILL do!!!

God Bless<><
