is the little cross-stitched picture that hangs by the elevator in the Business Department at San Diego Christian College…
It is a reminder that Jesus could come back at any moment…will I be ready?
People may mock the truth of the rapture or the book of Revelation but the truth is that it will happen. God’s Word talks about it:
1 Corinthians 5:52~”in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
Hurricane Sandy has ripped cities and states apart the last few days and earthquakes are occuring where we didn’t know fault lines existed… I have no idea when Jesus is coming back but the current happenings lead me to believe it could happen any time…perhaps today.
Am I living like I am ready? Am I using every opportunity, every breath to proclaim the truth of the Gospel? Am I shyly saying Jesus is the reason for my happiness? Or am I bursting at the seams to tell everyone I know and love that Jesus IS the ULTIMATE answer?
The more we study the universe the more we can see how MASSIVE it is and how small we are…what if God created the universe simply to give us a tiny glimpse of HIS Majesty?!?! What if these natural disasters aren’t just a coincidence and are the PROOF God’s Word prophesied 2000 years ago to show us that we MUST be ready? What if He comes back tomorrow? Tonight?
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 says, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
I am ready…are you?
