The Glory of the Gospel~What I learned at ISI 2013

What a powerful weekend… I am so thankful I had the opportunity to attend Iron Sharpens Iron 2013 at Emmaus Bible College!

I don’t think we as Christians truly understand the glory of the Gospel…if we did, wouldn’t we be shouting the Good News from the rooftops? Living and breathing the Gospel? Sharing it with ourselves daily? I know the Holy Spirit is the one who changes hearts, nothing we say can melt the heart of stone, but do we truly comprehend the treasure we have? The story that has been unfolding since the beginning of time?

I was given so many tools to share this wondrous story with children and with my friends, how to portray the whole story of the Gospel in a way that they will be excited to learn! One of the best workshops I went to was Sarah Poling, her passion for children and the desire to get them pumped about Jesus was incredible! Here is her blog, she has so many wonderful tools and ideas:

Also, one of the speakers, Alex Strauch, challenged us to preach the Gospel to ourselves everyday, not only so we would be ready to proclaim it when given the opportunity, but so we would never take for granted this hope we have in a Savior who loves us so much He sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth to redeem us back. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

How powerful is that? Today I will sing of my Redeemer! Here is the hymn by Philip Bliss, have you retold the greatest story in history today? Let’s sing it and proclaim it for ALL THE WORLD to HEAR!!!!

I will sing of my Redeemer,
And His wondrous love to me;
On the cruel cross He suffered,
From the curse to set me free.

Sing, oh sing, of my Redeemer,
With His blood, He purchased me.
On the cross, He sealed my pardon,
Paid the debt, and made me free.

I will tell the wondrous story,
How my lost estate to save,
In His boundless love and mercy,
He the ransom freely gave.

I will praise my dear Redeemer,
His triumphant power I’ll tell,
How the victory He giveth
Over sin, and death, and hell.

I will sing of my Redeemer,
And His heav’nly love to me;
He from death to life hath brought me,
Son of God with Him to be.

Go tell it on the Mountain!

God Bless<><
